About myself... I grew up in a family where self expression was encouraged and while everyone was trying to dress like the person next to them, I decided to show my talents through makeup. I still remember the first time I wore fake lashes to school! I was 17 and they were Demis. Haha. They actually looked better than half of the lashes I see people apply at work (we will talk about work later!).
Anyway, by the time I was 18 I hooked up with a friend who was getting married and allowed me to doll her & her bridesmaids up for her wedding... One of those photographs is still one of my personal favorites! Inspired by the success of this, I started doing photoshoots and have now worked with widely recognized models, photographers, set & fashion designers as well as hair & makeup artists. I have experience doing brides, fashion, commercial, mens, runway, etcetera...
Although I am a self-taught makeup artist, I received my formal training through Estee Lauder at MAC, where I currently work. MAC is definitely a trend-setter in the world of makeup as it is a top of the line brand created by artists for artists (MAC stands for Makeup ART Cosmetics), so I am not afraid of experimenting or difficult assignments at all. Our motto is "all ages, all races, all sexes", and I have learned to love doing makeup of people with different skin, ethnicities, acne/scar challenges, etc.
I attended college for a degree in fine arts. Lately I have considered attending TINT to further educate myself on cosmetics (special effects & prosthetics) & will probably enroll next winter. I did not really want to or need to go to a makeup school (due to the horrors & clichés of going to cosmetology school) but TILT has a makeup master program that I am curious about. Hmm!!
Anyway, before I shut up about myself I will share some info!
